Exterior Refinishing Process

Our process of refinishing your aircraft is outlined below. Click any step to view an image of our works in progress as we restore your craft.

Choose a step below to begin:

  1. Step 1: Multi-layer masking protects the plastic parts from stripper.
  2. Step 2: A heavy layer of stripper is left for a few moments to do it's magic.
  3. Step 3: After just a short while the old paint starts peeling away from the aluminum
  4. Step 4:
  5. Step 5: The stripper has been removed and the rivets need to be dressed.
  6. Step 6:
  7. Step 7: Another shot of the rivets being cleaned with a soft wire brush.
  8. Step 8:
  9. Step 9: Alodine process or prime treatment (Picture coming soon!)
  10. Step 10: Apply corrosion resistant epoxy primer gray or yellow green.
  11. Step 11:
  12. Step 12: Basecolor applied with the N-number masking in progress.
  13. Step 13:
  14. Step 14: Masking for trim color.
  15. Step 15:
  16. Step 16: Just out of the paint booth ready for cleanup
  17. Step 17:
  18. Step 18: After cleanup the paint really makes this aircraft look like a million bucks.
